Cecilia Kim is a Senior Associate of the firm and a member of our senior management team. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in urban planning from Hong-Ik University in Seoul, Korea, a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Southern California, and a PhD in Planning, Policy and Design from the University of California, Irvine, with a focus on land use regulation and form-based development codes. Cecilia has over 10 years of professional urban planning and design experience in the Los Angeles region, and has been teaching at Cal State Northridge on the subjects of graphic communication for planners, qualitative research on the multi-dimensional aspects of urban environments, and writing for planning documents of all types.
Cecilia works closely with our principals and the rest of our team, leading and managing our staff and project teams, advancing our documentation and communication techniques, and helping to build our client and teaming relationships and capacity. Her strong background in use-based and form-based development regulations; in land use, transportation and urban form analysis; and in sustainability policy, information design and community engagement all leverage our long-standing, industry-leading capabilities in urban planning and design, creative problem solving, and constant innovation in development standards and design guidelines for sustainable places of all types at all scales and in all contexts.
